With a vision to build a company that would evolve alongside the dynamic energy sector, Myles founded Turbo Drill Industries in 2007 to introduce groundbreaking technologies to the downhole drilling market. Scout specializes in the design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and servicing of high-performance downhole drilling tools. The company is dedicated to delivering solutions that exemplify strength, reliability, and the ability to drive data-informed decision-making in complex drilling environments.
Myles brings over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to founding the company, he held several leadership positions at National Oilwell Varco, Wenzel Downhole Tools, and other leading service companies. His extensive experience across both domestic and international markets provides Scout with a strong foundation in global energy operations and strategic growth.
Sheldon brings over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on the manufacturing, research, and development of drilling tools and technologies since 1995. He joined Scout in 2008, contributing his deep technical expertise and industry insight to the company's continued innovation and growth.
Prior to joining Scout, Sheldon held key roles at several Edmonton-based companies, including API Valve & BOP Services, KW Downhole Tools, and Wenzel Downhole Tools. His hands-on experience across these organizations has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of downhole tool development and operational excellence.
In 2000, Sheldon earned his Canadian Red Seal Machinist certification from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, further solidifying his technical foundation and commitment to precision manufacturing.
Andy brings over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting, with the majority of his career dedicated to the oil and gas industry. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Andy has built high-performing teams, led numerous mergers and acquisitions, and established himself as a skilled and strategic negotiator.
Before joining Scout, Andy served as Director of Finance at Nabors Drilling Solutions and Ryan Directional Services. He also held executive roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance at Balmoral Group, Trelleborg, and Navigate Energy Services.
Andy holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Aberdeen. Originally from Scotland, he became a U.S. citizen in 2013, bringing a global perspective to his financial leadership.
Chad brings 23 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having held a variety of engineering and operations management roles throughout his career. He has been with Scout for over a decade, previously serving as President of Innovation. In his current role, Chad leads the company’s efforts in innovation and technology, ensuring Scout remains at the forefront of delivering advanced directional drilling solutions.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, providing a strong technical foundation for his leadership in product development and operational excellence.
Marc serves as Chief Innovation Officer at Scout, bringing over 20 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. His career spans key roles in Sales, Engineering, and Product Management, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of the sector’s operational and strategic dynamics.
At Scout, Marc leads innovation initiatives by identifying strategic growth opportunities, anticipating industry advancements, and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of competitiveness. Prior to joining Scout, he held leadership positions where he successfully expanded the downhole drilling tool rental division and drove significant business development. His broad experience across technical and commercial functions has solidified his reputation as a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of industry challenges and opportunities.
Marc holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, underscoring his strong technical foundation and commitment to excellence.
Kalon serves as President of Operations, where he plays a pivotal role in steering Scout's operational strategy and execution. With a focus on optimizing drilling and MWD operations, Kalon provides leadership and oversight to the management team, ensuring we consistently meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
With over 30 years of experience in the energy sector, Kalon has held key leadership roles at prominent companies including Cathedral Energy Services and Leam Drilling Services. His extensive background encompasses a deep understanding of drilling technologies, field operations, and team development, making him a respected figure in the industry and a trusted leader within Scout.
Since joining Scout in June 2021 as U.S. Operations Manager, Kalon has brought a wealth of industry knowledge and a results-driven approach to the organization. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, fostering innovation, and driving strategic growth across Scout’s service offerings.
Steve Jones is the President and CEO of Sanvean Technologies. He leads the engineering and operations team in the development and commercialization of next-generation rotary steerable systems, instrumented real-time motors and embedded data recorders for the energy industry.
With 30 years of experience, Steve is a detail-oriented and performance-driven leader with deep expertise in directional drilling, rotary steerable systems, research and development, and product management. His career includes key roles at Halliburton, Pathfinder Energy Services, and Schlumberger, with assignments across both domestic and international markets.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical and Offshore Engineering from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. He is a recognized leader in the field, having authored over 30 technical papers on drilling technology and holding more than 24 patents and pending patents worldwide.
